9-on-9 Team Battle Tournament Winners, Team T-Town Rippers, holding their prize of 3 Cobalt Drake Clear Ver.
Dice Addiction just finished up our second successful 9-on-9 Team Battle Tournament. For readers that are unaware, 9-on-9 Team Battle is a format of Beyblade X thought up by our store owner Chip.
In 9-on-9 Team Battle, Bladers will form teams of 3 then each member of the team will construct a deck of 3 beyblades with no repeating parts on the team resulting in each team having 9 unique beyblades.
Then at the beginning of the match each team will secretly assign their bladers A, B, & C, then battle the opposing team in that order in a series of 3-on-3, first to 7 points games with the team that wins 2 out of 3 of those games winning the match and the third game being played for our Points Difference Tie Breaker.
This time around we had 12 Team enter and we ran the tournament in 2 stages, the first stage being round robin pods with 2 pods of 6 Teams that each faced every other team in their pod, with the 2nd stage being a Top 4 single elimination bracket between the top 2 teams from each pod.
While we did try to run the Tournament as smoothly as possible, we did have 1 major hang up we would like to apologize for. During a match one of our judges circled the wrong team on their score keeping sheet despite circling the correct winners for each game in that match, then misplaced said score keeping sheet, resulting in a delay that lasted roughly 10-15 minutes while we corrected the issue. Luckily, the error was found before the incident could affect the top 4 pairings and turned out to be an easy fix. We at Dice Addiction sincerely apologize for this mistake, this was that judge's first time judging a beyblade event of this size, they did an amazing job outside of this lone incident, and we promise to do better at our future events.
In the end our top 4 teams were:
Team Rice & Beans from Texas
Team 405 Bladers from OKC
Team T-Town Rippers from Tulsa
& Team Saber Bladers From Arkansas
For our semi final matches Team Saber Bladers and Team T-Town Rippers both fought hard against their opponents to become our finalists, taking 7 points in all 3 games of their matches.
Then both teams faced each other in the finals with the T-Town Rippers taking home the win and 3 Clear Cobalt Drakes after a hard fought match.
