Entry for this event will be $40 and the format will be X-Men X of Swords Battle Royale! There will be participation figures and tarot cards given out to all entrants as well! Storyline Organized Play Tournament Structure - Events are run using the standard Battle Royale drafting and game play format with the following noted exceptions:
Swords
When players first open their Marvel HeroClix: X-Men X of Swords Storyline Organized Play booster pack, they draft the Sword equipment object that was included in their pack.
Tarot Cards
When players first open their Marvel HeroClix: X-Men X of Swords Storyline Organized Play booster pack, they each contribute the Tarot Card from their pack along with 1 Major Arcana Participation Prize Tarot Cards from the Marvel HeroClix: X-Men X of Swords Storyline Organized Play Tournament Kit to form a shared deck of 5 Tarot Cards. Players should make a note of which card they pulled from their pack; these cards are theirs to keep at the end of the event.
Sword Bearers
For the games in this event series, all characters have the following trait:
SWORD BEARER: This character starts the game with any Sword equipment equipped.
Respawn
When a figure is KO’d, after the figure has been removed from the map and scored, the controlling player generates that figure in a square in their Starting Area.
Step 1: Open New Figures - Players will get to open their booster pack!
Step 2: Draft - Players will draft the Sword equipment object that was included in their pack. Players will then choose a figure from the pack they opened and take its associated card, and then pass the remainder of the pack to the player on their left. When they receive a booster pack from the player on their left, players choose one of the remaining figures in that pack (along with its associated card) to draft into their force and then pass the remainder of the pack to the player on their left. Repeat two more times until each player has 4 figures (plus associated cards) and 1 sword object.
Step 3: Play - Players play a Battle Royale style event with placement of players determined by the highest total points of game elements KO’d during the game. Players are awarded tournament points that count toward winning the Grand Prize for the Marvel HeroClix: X of Swords Storyline Organized Play Series. The top finishers each month will earn prizes.
Step 4: Come Back - In Months 2 and 3, players have chances to collect new figures, win new prizes, and earn more points towards the Grand Prizes!
